Roger Wootton and Glenn Goring

Roger Wootton and Glenn Goring were founder members of recently reformed Comus -
an early '70's folk-rock band with a difference. A sort of acid-fuelled electric
folk band with a dark edge to their music. Their first album is regarded as a lost
classic. Check out www.allmusic.com/artist/comus-p16603/biography. We're very lucky
to get Roger & Glenn to play for us - they don't do many gigs (either as a duo or
as part of Comus), but those they do go down very well indeed. They'll be playing
a set based mostly on Comus material (though don't be too surprised if a Velvet Underground
song makes an appearance). Roger, lead singer of Comus, has a very powerful voice
redolent of Roger Chapman of Family and a fearsome guitar style. Glenn plays 6-string
and 12-string guitars and bongos. Make sure you're there to see them. This is bound
to be one of the highlights of this year's SoL.
